Elizabeth Harris, BSc. CP(c) - Prosthetist

Elizabeth Harris is the founder of Atlantic Prosthetics. She is a Certified Prosthetist with many years of experience working with amputees from all walks of life. Elizabeth works closely with her team during each phase of the design and creation of prosthetic limbs for their patients.

Elizabeth worked at Sunnybrook Hospital for 16 years, gaining from the experience of prosthetics practice at a regional trauma centre and the largest prosthetics facility in the country. Elizabeth has also been a part time faculty member at GBC and at UofT and is involved with international education in prosthetics through her work on the board of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Elizabeth grew up on a dairy farm in southeastern Ontario and moved to beautiful Prince Edward Island in 2004. She is now very pleased to offer prosthetic services to amputees of all shapes and sizes at Atlantic Prosthetics in Charlottetown. Elizabeth always has a project of some sort on after work; be it a new garden, an engrossing book or building a giant picnic table for the family camp where she spends much of her time with her moonbouncing husband.

Mitchell Visser, BSc. MSc. CP(c) - Prosthetist

Mitchell Visser is a Certified Prosthetist nationally registered with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC). Mitchell is involved in all treatment areas in the clinic. He works closely with each patient to develop and design the optimal prosthetic device for his or her needs and activities. He also collaborates with the technical team to fabricate each prosthesis to suit the patient’s functional and cosmetic desires.

Mitchell completed his prosthetic residency at API. He graduated the Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics program at George Brown College in Toronto and completed his Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University. Prior to that, Mitchell completed one year of technical prosthetics training in Toronto and a BSc - Advanced Major in Biology at St. Francis Xavier University. 

Mitchell grew up on a potato farm in the community of Orwell, PEI where he learned the meaning of hard work and helping out your neighbor. This is also where he began to develop his hand skills and his sense of humor. In his free time, Mitchell enjoys family time, running, and woodworking.

Alyson Clow - Prosthetic Technician

Alyson is the technical lead at API. She works closely with the clinical team and fabricates your prostheses with love, intention and experience. 

Alyson earned her BSc Degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in 2011 and then went on to add a Prosthetic Technical Diploma from George Brown College in 2013 while playing Varsity volleyball at each institution . 

Alyson grew up on the North Shore of PEI in New London and is happy to be back on red soil after being away for over a decade. She spent the last 5 1/2 years working in Vancouver, BC at Barber Prosthetics Clinic under a technician with 30 years experience. 

In her free time, you can find Alyson engrossed in a book, dog sitting, or furthering sport on the Island by coaching volleyball and rugby for her old high school and the province. When not coaching she is doing her best to not get injured while playing both.
